Went to the Goldsmiths Fair 2009 in the City of London this evening, to look at new jewellery designs, with my partner Katrina, of Katrina Alexander Jewellery fame. We were both somewhat taken by numerous items on display, from stunning rings, bracelets and pendants, to highly innovative silverware, including beautiful bowls and even salt and pepper shakers for a mere £500. Somehow, they were actually worth it, due to the workmanship and finish of the products.
In spite of a couple of glasses of wine we managed to avoid spending that £500 (£5000 more like) and headed off for a curry instead. But a very pleasant and inspiring evening.
